The opposite of silver lining

I've come to the conclusion that there is only one thing worse than having your dental work take longer because you are bleeding, and that's having your dentist tell you this in an accusatory tone, as though you were bleeding intentionally.

Don't get me wrong. I understand that there are things that I can do over the long term to cut down on gum sensitivity (i.e., abuse them gradually to inure them to the abuse that they might take in the dentist's office), but there's not a whole lot I can do when I'm under the drill.

I'm just sayin.

Sorry-dental stuff creeps up on you. The new motorized toothbrushes really help a lot. Election today here. Could be ugly.

My daughter's been reading the Berenstain Bears Go to the Dentist a lot lately, but you put to me to mind that it should be a lot scarier if it's going to have a saluatory effect. How about, "The Berenstain Bears Have Root Canal?"

OMG, this has happened to me! In my case, the dentist threw down his tools in disgust and told me to make another appointment to come back when I was no longer bleeding. Then he stomped out. I was 16 at the time, and have assumed that dentists did such things to children but not to adults. Sorry to learn that I was wrong. Hope your dental travails are now ended.
